The Centre d’Art Vocal et de Musique Ancienne (CAV&MA) was created in 1984. Its aim is to support the dissemination of vocal repertoire and early instrumental music, by creating in the process a professional channel for singers.
To do this, CAV&MA develops educational activities for young professionals, collaborates with higher education, and asserts itself each year more as a quality producer, in its territory of origin but also throughout Europe and America.
As evidenced by several hundred concerts given in recent years, more than 80 recordings and numerous awards obtained by the groups that have been created to be the flagship of this intense activity: the Chœur de Chambre de Namur (dir. Leonardo García Alarcón), the baroque orchestra Les Agrémens (directed by Guy Van Waas), and the Millennium Orchestra (directed by Leonardo García Alarcón).
Since 2021, CAV&MA has been responsible for the management and artistic programming of the Namur Concert Hall, an 750-seat concert hall at the Grand Manège.
