Antonio Vivaldi composed three Dixit Dominus ("The Lord said" in Latin), the Latin version of Psalm 110. A first Dixit of ten movements for five soloists, a double choir and an orchestra, RV 594, another in eleven movements for five voices, a five-part choir and orchestra, RV 595, and a recently discovered last Dixit in eleven movements for five soloists, choir and orchestra, RV 807, which was originally attributed to Baldassare Galuppi. The Dixit Dominus are considered to be major pieces of Vivaldi's sacred work.
