THE VIOLIN ACCORDING TO BACH
CHOUCHANE SIRANOSSIAN AND LEONARDO GARCÍA ALARCÓN MEET J.S BACH
Chouchane Siranossian, guest of honor at the Festivals de Wallonie 2019, which she inaugurated in Namur with our Millenium Orchestra, reunited with Leonardo García Alarcón in May 2020, after the first confinement, to record this program around Bach's violin at the Opera from Dijon.
In Europe in the first half of the 17th century, instrumental music became a source of sonic and expressive experiments. Influenced by vocal rhetoric, the composers seek a new musical poetics. The genre evolves through increased virtuosity, invention, improvisation and the search for amazing tones. The violin is the ideal instrument for this new repertoire initiated by musicians such as Farina, Schmelzer, Biber, Pisendel and Bach ... Derived from the stylus Phantasticus, these works break free from conventions and uses and explore new expressive possibilities.
Chouchane Siranossian, Balázs Maté and Leonardo García Alarcón offer you a demonstration of subtle agility here.
